Help make Mason City Sparkle! It is the wonderful volunteers of Mason City who help clean our community that make Mason City what it is!
What: Earth Day Litter cleanup around Mason City
Where: Around your business, school neighborhood, or in your favorite park. You chose your cleanup spot!
When: Any time between April 18th-May 2nd.
Details: People of all ages are invited to come. Bags and rubber gloves are available at the Volunteer Coordinator’s Office in City Hall before the cleanup day. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own heavy-duty work gloves and wear appropriate clothing depending on the weather.
After your cleanup call Mary at (641) 421-3372 or email her at email@example.com with the location of the bags and we'll get them picked up or bring them along to our Earth Day Festival on April 25th 10am-noon at Lime Creek Nature Center where we will have a sanitation truck available for trash disposal.
A metal bin will also be provided at the festival, so we ask that you separate out those items and place them in the metal bin. Metal is a resource that can be continuously recycled into different items.
Feel free to bring any metal from home as all proceeds go to benefit the Mason City Earth Day Committee.
A prize will be awarded to the team that finds the most unusual trash item, and brings it along to the festival to be entered in the contest.
